Assalammualaikum (Peace upon onto you). My name is Nuraisyafyqa. Today I am going to share my experience to face Foundation of TESL Interview. Asasi TESL UiTM was my second choice in UPU system. My choices for UPU were Asasi Bahasa Inggeris (IIUM), Asasi TESL (UiTM), Diploma TESL (UniSZA), Diploma Bahasa Inggeris (UPSI) and I forgot another two choices -.- . Haha. Okay let me tell you everything about Interview TESL UiTM.
The interview was held in UiTM Shah Alam. I want to warn you to not to go to exactly UiTM Shah Alam. Faculty of Education is near to Intec Shah Alam . I lost at that morning. Luckily, my father had installed Waze application. Alhamdulillah. I managed to be there on the exact time. That interview is divided by two parts . It is speaking and witten test. The written test is consist of reading and writing essay. The writing part was quite easy but the reading part was worst! There were a tonnes of hard words in reading part. I think that the questions will never be same every year. I think I did well ( I think la. Haha).
After that, we were divided into a few groups and different rooms. I waited out of the room anxoiusly. I thought the interview will be in groups but I was wrong. The interview will be personal interview. Hehe. The panels of the interview were an Indian man and a Malay woman (Maybe they are lecturers there). They smiled at me . I was totally nervous! The questions that they asked me :
1) Tell us a little bit about yourself.
2) Why do you choose TESL?
3) Can teaching process happen without learning process?
4) Estimate the height of this room. (Seriously? Hahaha. I did answer it)
5) What movie that you like to watch? ( I answered I did not like to watch movie but I like to watch TV series such as Sherlock)

Haha. So juniors, don't worry . TESL interview is not that bad :)
p/s: I did not get offer for Asasi TESL but I got offer from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin for Diploma TESL T_T
I did not go to Unisza because I got offer from Ministry of Education for Program Persediaan Ijazah Sarjana Muda Perguruan (Pengajian Bahasa Melayu) in Institute of Teacher Education Ipoh Campus. Alhamdulillah. I am still going to be a teacher but not English Language teacher . Hihi.
